Help!
Description
I’ve been writing my self-taught suffrage homage every day for seven months. I’m a long way from the August 26 finish line and I’m in a bit of a slump. Which is appropriate, because the US movement was in a slump at a comparable point. I need your help. 👇
Besides the founding of NACW, which I’ve covered, what should I look at between late 1890s--c.1910? Please recommend exciting, awful, or just noteworthy developments.
Otherwise I’ll skip over to the UK, where things heat up a little earlier. It would be nice to travel…
Thank you all for the great ideas and encouragement. Onward!

There is a fun rabbit hole about Jewish women and suffrage, most recently in Melissa Klapper’s Babies and Ballot Boxes. I’m happy to do a thread early-mid June when semester ends on Jewish sororities and suffrage.

There’s not a lot on her, but Mrs. Frank Leslie. Omg what a woman. She just didn’t drop all that $ on Carrie out of the blue when she died. And what a life! Who takes Oscar Wilde’s brother as their 4 husband!!

Your work is one of the highlights of my day! In the American West, lots of important things happened in the 1890s. 1896: Utah re-enfranchises its women; Idaho grants suffrage; California mounts an unsuccessful but influential suffrage campaign.
