Trinkets, tchotchkes, memorabilia

Title

Trinkets, tchotchkes, memorabilia

Description

The end of the 19th century was a boom time for suffrage tchotchkes. In the 1890s "new manufacturing techniques brought about the introduction of the modern post card, the souvenir spoon, the lapel button," explains Kenneth Florey. Scroll through this online exhibit 👉 of his incredible collection of US & UK suffrage memorabilia. I learned that the yellow/gold color distinctive of the US movement originated in the sunflowers of the first Kansas campaign in 1867. So many gems in there - I will return!
